Welcome to the Resistance.
Alright, folks, listen up. It's time for the progressive left to stop just screaming into the void and start organizing like our democracy depends on it—because it does. The dumpster fire of the last decade didn’t just happen by accident; it was built brick by brick by people who know how to play dirty. But guess what? We’ve got brains, passion, and a severe collective itch to take this fight to the next level.
Now, imagine this: all the progressive podcasts—The David Pakman Show, MeidasTouch, Best of the Left, Current Affairs, you name it—banding together like some Avengers squad of political truth-tellers. Hey, Jubuliee’s Middle Ground, we have a timeslot just for you. Throw in Jon Stewart (the OG of calling out bullshit) and Bill Maher (when he’s not busy telling you why college kids are too sensitive), and what do you get? A progressive media Voltron ready to obliterate misinformation and apathy. Progressives Assemble.
Why We Need an Informational Resistance
Forget armed resistance for now. We’re talking about informational warfare. Rather than Alex Jones making crap up that he shot out of his @ss, we are about taking evidence-based research and serving it simply and coherently to the streets. These right-wing fools have been pumping out propaganda faster than Tucker Carlson can smirk his way through a segment. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has been too busy making polite suggestions like, “Maybe we should do something about climate change if that’s okay with everyone.” Enough of that. We need a full-court press, 24/7, relentlessly drilling the message into the public consciousness: the stakes are high, and the time to act was yesterday.
The New Democratic Perspective: Media, Message, Momentum
Here’s the plan:
Consolidate the Progressive Left Media Machine
It’s time for these podcasting titans to join forces. We need our Daily Wire. (who knows, Advancing the Age?) Imagine a progressive network where The Humanist Report dives deep on policy, Think Progressively smashes the latest GOP talking points, and The Luke Beasley Show provides daily updates on how democracy is still hanging by a thread. Coordination is critical, and we’re talking about a well-oiled machine of information, inspiration, and the occasional f-bomb.Bring in the Big Guns
Jon Stewart, our patron saint of calling out hypocrites, should be the keynote speaker of this resistance. We need him back on the front lines, aiming at the absurdities of our political system. Bill Maher is the right man to keep us in check. When the left goes too far left, and the far right does, well, what it does, he is the Critical Left OG to slice and dice them both. Let’s get these guys in the room with democratic senators, ex-presidents, and activists to craft a new narrative during 2025 and beyond.
Redefine the Democratic Party
Let’s face it: the Democratic Party lost its way. Biden's initiatives were bold but did not speak to the working man. It amazes me that he was one of the most legislatively significant figures for the working man, and the response was meh. With policy, we need a good story. The Democrats need to get Bernie Sanders fiery! Universal healthcare, climate action, and workers' rights aren’t fringe ideas; they’re what most Americans want. But how do we make them infectious? How can the ordinary citizen feel it at their kitchen table?
The Irreverent Revolution Will Be Podcasted (and you can find me at NDP on Discord.)
What we need is a resistance that bites. It will be four long years, and we need inspiration. A resistance that doesn’t just hold town halls and politely clap when someone says something reasonable. If we do a town hall, it needs to be real…like MTV: Real World. We need to rage, to challenge when Trump goes rogue (and he will), to laugh in the face of those who think the trump status quo is just acceptable. We must critique the left and the right and be critically honest about what is happening on both sides. We need to discuss and explore these topics, and perhaps we will not always agree, but we will agree that creating a country where disagreement is safe, this country of free speech, is what we want. The progressive movement has the talent, the platforms, and the audience. Now, it needs the balls to go all in.
So, here’s the deal: progressives, Democrats, it’s time to lock arms, link mics, and get sh*t done. We don’t need to start a new party; we need to start a revolution within the one we’ve got. Informational warfare is the game; we’ve got the players to win it. Let’s make it happen, one podcast episode at a time.
And hey, if Jon Stewart’s reading this, call us, man. We’ve got work to do.
